Wednesday Vignette - Some "Feel Good" Shots
Here's a few shots from the last month taken during a peaceful, late afternoon / early evening.
At this time of day the light is very kind to a photographer! This part of the backyard is starting to feel like a mysterious jungle. for the curious - bottom right is Mangave 'Mission to Mars' now measuring about 4' wide. The paddle looking cactus at the end of the path AFAIK is Opuntia polyacantha var. erinacea which grew from a single paddle about 4 yrs ago and just bloomed for the first time this past month.
A closeup of a favorite potted arrangement.
From the back: Pedilanthus bracteatus, Kalanchoe sexangularis, Front and center: dwarf Achillea sp.
The Kalanchoe manage to survive the entire winter outside this year with no damage to speak of from a few brief and light hail storms.
It's always wonderful when the sun collaborates with the photographer! What's the plant (aloe?) with what appears to be a red edge?
ReplyDeleteIn the first picture? The ones on the left edge of the path are over grown Coral Aloe's. Not sure if those are the ones you mentioned. They are much more red over all now that the weather has gotten warmer.
DeleteIt's all about the light, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteyep - absolutely.
DeleteWow, that Mission to Mars mangave -- that's huge!
